The Weight of Our Stuff
If we decide to take a weight-loss journey but don’t take our environment and the role it plays into consideration, we miss out on implementing an important piece of the weight-loss puzzle. If our home remains heavy, we too can remain heavy. In order to begin to feel lighter, it’s important we lighten the spaces around us, introduce order, change the frequencies, and ignite change.
Spaciousness, Beauty, and Awe
People who experience awe place less value on money and prefer experiences over material things, feel less negatively about losing possessions, forego self interest while looking to improve the well-being of others, begin to understand and appreciate their sense of interrelatedness woven throughout the fabric of the whole, and have a greater overall sense of satisfaction with their life.
A Home of One’s Own
When we give a name to our dwelling, we begin to form an intimate relationship with it. When we name our home, we create a personal connection. When we form a connection or bond with something or someone, we enter into a reciprocal relationship and are more likely to love and care for it, and, in response, it for us.
Creating Space For Magic
When our lives consist of perpetual diversions, we miss opportunities to experience wonder and awe. When we’re distracted by too many thoughts, too much stuff, some not-so-great habits, opinions, and expectations, we constrict the opening that magic requires to reveal itself. When we exchange our time trying to capture a world that just wants to be in relation with us, we risk missing out on the extraordinary.
The Space Between
We’re intimidated by empty space. We tend to want to fill our shelves, our pockets, and our time. So we stuff our closets, our calendars, and our minds full of so much that we’ve become numb while we wade in the excess. We’ve convinced ourselves that somehow, surrounded by stuff, we will find what we seek.
It actually works in reverse.
Consider this Conversation
When you talk about the messy stuff before it gets messy, you help prepare a clearer path for emotions and feelings that need to be felt during any loss or transition the space they need to do what they need to do without the confusion and worry and wonder mixed in with the logistics or details.
Looking For Space
I view my purpose as helping others create the space they require to manifest their purpose. If I do my job correctly, they will then be better equipped to fulfill their life’s work with the least amount of friction as possible and then be able to do their big things.
Simplicity
Make peace with your Stuff. If you love it and use it and it makes you happy, by all means, cherish it and appreciate it. If it’s taking up space and not prompting you to dwell in the life you are meant for, then perhaps it’s time to consider why you still have it.
